Is their a standard for being hot?

Basically what im curious is does it matter whether an ugly girl calls you hot or a hot girl calls you hot or vice versa for the girls. I mean i feel that i get the your hot thing alot but im not always sure if its from someone i want to here it from or some one I would necessarily would say is hot. But IDK is it the same or do hot people have a higher standard of hot or is it all just universal. Im trying to break this down as good as i can so i get the answers i want and not a bunch of misguided rambles. Basically this is the best scenario if a hot person wrote down a list of people she thought was hot and a not so hot girl wrote down a list of people she thought was hot would they be similar or would the hot girls picks be held to higher standards. They would be the same, ugly girls have eyes ya know. But I think the ugly girls would have more guys on the list because more guys are... "above" them and they consider more guys hott.

I'm not sure if a hot girl list and a not hot girl list would be the way to go. Because what's hot and what's not is according to individual taste. Like I think Johnny Depp is sexy as all hell, but some girls, hot or not, would disagree with me.

Paris Hilton to some guys is as hot as it gets, yet to some others she is a pig dog.

I don't think that there are varying levels of attractiveness based on what you look like yourself, because everyone thinks differently. And anyway who deems who is hot and who is not? Most of time it seems that majority rules. And some really unattractive people have impeccable taste in others.

It is proven however, that people date and marry people who are at their level of attractiveness. But then just because you marry at your own level, doesn't mean you don't dream about people out of your league.
