How do you know if someone's myspace is for real?

One of my friends is sort of going through a desperate phase with men right now. She found a hot guy on myspace, added him and they have been talking a LOT. I looked at his profile, he has 39 friends who are all women scattered across the US. Not one man or real seeming friend on there even tho he has lived in this city for 10 years. He has shirtless pics on line and is telling her he has 2 homes, 2 cars, etc...she asked him out, they are now planning to go out early next week. It seems a bit too good to be true and i have had online experiences that were basically scams (always with good looking guys) His profile says he is mostly looking to chat online. He has told her a lot about himself, but no face to face meet. She just told me they have been chatting ALL DAY at work. Seems weird. What do you think? Could it be real since he agreed to meet up with her?

This sounds fishy and possibly dangerous. Your friend should NOT meet this guy. You haven't mentioned how old he claims to be or how old your friend is, but at any rate, meeting him is a bad idea.

You can never be too sure about people like that. If your going to meet them I would say meet them in a very public area and take the bus to get there or a bike. Oh yeah and have a small weapon to defend yourself with.

I'd agree with you. This may seem too good to be true but you really don't know for sure until she meets him.
